February 23, 2007

Hey guys! I am still here! Lots of changes have happened in my life during the past 5-6 months or so. I finally graduated from college, I got engaged to be married and I've landed a 1st grade teaching job! So, you can just imagine how extremely busy I've been.  I will begin to update the site more often than I have been. I apologize! I know lots of things have been happening with the gang's careers....it's been exciting to watch! (except for just one cast member who has extremely disappointed the fans!) Anyways, I can't wait to keep reporting positive news....don't forget to check out Mario as he officially starts his new job co-hosting EXTRA TV's weekend edition tomorrow! A.C. Slater Plugs In

Source: http://www.ew.com

IT'S THAT DIMPLE As one of the Stars with the most promise, Mario's spun himself right back onto our radarDancing With the Stars standout and recent Nip/Tuck shower-scene-stealer Mario Lopez, 32, is in pain — for several reasons: The former Saved by the Bell star just strained a back muscle in rehearsal; he can't recall which level of the L.A. parking garage his car is on; and this phone interview with EW is keeping him from a call with longtime pal Eva Longoria, who's been offering advice on his Dancing duds. ''She's like, 'Don't wear anything too tight or too flashy,''' he recounts. '''You still look kinda masculine.''' But what will she think of his answers to our test? My American Idol audition song would be: I think I'm the worst singer ever. It'd be Bob Marley ''Could You Be Loved.'' I'd kinda talk through it. Mario to Appear MTV College Celebration

Source: http://www.eonline.com

Fitchburg will have an influx of young celebrities when Veronica Portillo and Landon Lueck from two of MTV's most popular reality shows drop by the Fitchburg State College campus during the upcoming Welcome Week.

Students will have the opportunity to meet and greet Portillo, who became a popular part of MTV's "Road Rules: Semester at Sea" in 1999, and Lueck, who was a part of MTV's "Real World: Philadelphia" cast in 2004.

"It's kind of a small college so I didn't think they had that much pull," he added. "I've lived in the area and it is not UMass Lowell or [Boston University], but they get these people to come here. It's pretty impressive."

Also, Mario Lopez, who played A.C. Slater on the popular show "Saved by the Bell," and Dave Coulier, who appeared as Uncle Joey in "Full House," will appear at the college in the fall.

Dustin: Oral sex has always been acceptable. The bottom line is, regardless of your position, whether you're a plumber or a president, it doesn't matter. I think Clinton played it off well. Voorhies Drops Law Suit

Lark Voorhies has dropped her lawsuit against US tabloid the National Enquirer. The actress, who played LISA TURTLE on the US teen show, alleged the Enquirer printed false accusations that she was addicted to cocaine. The article also quoted a "friend" of Voorhies' saying she had a "terrible drug problem" and was "bipolar". Voorhies claims the Enquirer article cost her several acting jobs, invaded her privacy and caused her "humiliation, embarrassment, hurt feelings, metal anguish and suffering." The star's attorney, CYRUS J NOWNEJADI tells celebrity website TMZ.com, "The allegations are untrue and the matter has been resolved."

'Just Pray' Crucial Screening, How You Can help!

I was kindly asked in the help of promoting a screening in which Tiffani Thiessen's short film 'Just Pray' will be shown. (In case you don't know, this was Thiessen first ever attempt at producing and directing a short film!) This was a major accomplishment for the actress and we must do whatever we can as fans to help her succeed in getting an OSCAR nomination, plus more recognition!!! How can you do that? Well this is how!

If you are able to attend the screening, it is tremendously appreciated. They need a sold-out event to help Tiffani's chances. It takes place at the 2006 RI International Film Festival on Saturday Night, August 12 at The Columbus Theater at 270 Broadway in Providence, RI.

The RI International Film Festival is an Academy Award-qualifying festival which means that Tiffani's film is now in contention to compete for Best Film at the festival, and if she wins, her film will be in Official Competition for an Academy Award for Best Short Film Live Action.

So, if you are able to get to this screening, or know of any other fans who can, please spread the word!

The bell may not save him this time

Source: www.jconline.com

On the front porch of the Port Washington home he may be thrown out of, the actor Dustin Diamond tried Wednesday to calculate how his kitsch celebrity might stave off a foreclosure.

Millions could remember him from his role as the geeky Screech on the early '90s sitcom "Saved by the Bell," and its perpetual syndication. Close to 100,000 computers had logged onto his Web site at www.getdshirts.com within a few hours of his Tuesday morning appearance on Howard Stern's satellite radio show. Diamond figured that selling 30,000 T-shirts to save his gray, two-story suburban home might be within reason.

"If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success," he said.

Personal issues in adulthood have become commonplace for former child actors. But Diamond, who was 12 when the Saturday-morning sitcom first aired on NBC, boasts that he doesn't drink or use drugs, has never been arrested and has only two traffic tickets in his life. [READ MORE]

Dustin on 'Howard Stern'

Source: www.howardstern.com

Dustin Diamond, better known as Screech from “Saved by the Bell,” came into the studio to talk about a problem he’s been having with his finances. Dustin reported he made about $2 million during his 10-year run on “Saved by the Bell,” but, before he turned 18, his parents allegedly took all but the 25 percent of his earnings, which he said ruined his credit. Dustin told how he moved into a house in Milwaukee four years ago and is now in danger of losing it. Dustin went on to explain that he couldn’t get a regular loan because of his poor credit, so, when he was looking for one, he had to rely on a land contract offered to him by someone who promised to help him. However, Dustin added the man in question now wants the house and, unless he can come up with $250,000 to pay for it, he’ll lose it to the guy who has called in his loan.

Given his situation, Dustin announced he’s selling “D-shirts” with the message “I paid $15 to save Screech’s house” on them with the hope of raising enough money to keep his house. Dustin acknowledged that he has to sell close to 30,000 shirts – which he noted are going for $15 for regular shirts and $20 for autographed ones – to supplement the income he makes as a standup in order to make the $250,000. Feeling charitable, Artie invited him to perform with him at his upcoming shows in Pittsburgh at $1,000 per show. Dustin agreed to open for Artie and also pointed out his fiancé, Jennifer, is from Pittsburgh. Following Artie’s offer, George acknowledged he was seeing “the soul” in Artie. Howard, George and Artie proceeded to each buy a “D-shirt” from Dustin, with George being the only one requesting an autograph.

A full generation of kids, for eleven years, awoke bleary eyed and disoriented early every Saturday morning to all fall in front of the tube and watch NBC's Saturday morning lineup. One show held particular appeal, as the times and troubles of Zach, Kelly, Slater, Lisa, Jessie, Screech and of course Mr. Belding captivated young audiences across the nation in "Saved By The Bell."

Now, those young audiences are in college and Dennis Haskins is bringing the world of "Saved By The Bell" back to them. Adult Swim, the outrageous nighttime wing of the Cartoon Network, reports that its ratings spiked strongly after it began showing repeats of Saved by the Bell.

No surprise there. Saved, a Saturday morning comedy from the '90s, had the greatest cast ever: Elizabeth Berkley, who went on to create screen magic in Showgirls; Mark-Paul Gosselaar, now on Commander in Chief; Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who went on to an unforgettable string of cheeseball TV movies like She Fought Alone; and Dustin Diamond, who never did another thing because he was just so dead solid perfect as Screech.

Sorry Screech,Saved by the Bell Isn't Coming Back

Source: www.mtv.com

'Official' statement boasting a revived show with original cast is a hoax.

It's been a pretty divisive month for fans of Master Shake and Zack Morris, and you can blame it all on the people behind Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.Randomly selected episodes of "Bell" — a Saturday morning staple on NBC from 1989-'93 — began airing April 17 and are scheduled to wrap up this week with the broadcast of the epic "Snow White and the Seven Dorks" ep, where the gang at Bayside High puts together a hip-hop version of "Snow White."

Reacting to viewer feedback, Adult Swim decided to take things to the next level. On April 19, the network released a statement claiming "Saved by the Bell" was headed back into production, with Cartoon Network ordering 30 new episodes of the show. According to Matt Laster (identified in the statement as "the VP of Turner Entertainment's newly created '80s Reclamation Department"), most of the original cast was already on board for the new edition of "Bell."

Of course, news of the resurrected "Saved by the Bell" quickly made its way around the Internet, showing up on sites as diverse as Celebrity-Moms.com and the online home of Boston's long-running Phoenix alt-weekly.

It turns out the whole announcement was nothing more than that: a really big joke. According to James Anderson, the vice president of public relations for Adult Swim, there are no plans to bring "Bell" back. And while Matt Laster is an actual Swim employee, he's not the VP of anything. [READ MORE]

He's released a CD as part of the rock group Salty the Pocketknife, pummeled a former "Sweathog" on Celebrity Boxing 2 and been ranked No. 16 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Kid Stars.

Tiffani Adds Author to her Resume

Source: http://www.tiffanithiessen.com

Straight from Tiffani's Official website feature, "Talkin' with Tiffani", it is confirmed that she is a brand new children's book author! We wish you a lot of luck Tiffani!

Q.Randy, Wilmington, Delaware
I know you have directed and produced a film, but do you ever write any stories?

A. My producing partner and I just completed the manuscript for the first book in our children’s picture book series called, “Fins & Tales.” This completed manuscript along with an outline for the remaining seven or eight books in the series is currently being shopped to publishers and we hope to announce some good news very soon. The stories are life lessons for the young at heart as told through the voices of my pets. We have two dogs, two cats and a fish – hence, the title of the series, “Fins & Tales.” I’m excited to be adding author to my list of new endeavors.
